Vacancy: Assistant Accountant 

Role: Permanent

Location: West Midlands, England

Salary: £29,000 – 43,000 (Depending on your experience)
 

Hours:  39 hrs a week (Mon- Thurs- 8am to 5.15pm and Friday 8am to 12pm)

Key Tasks:
To assist in the preparation and analysis of management accounting information on a monthly, half yearly, and annual basis
Assist in the production of monthly management accounts to trial balance
Daily management and control of the cashbooks to bank statements
Maintain sales ledger & accounts receivable
Purchase ledger
Fixed asset register
Monthly VAT return
Monthly Intra-stat returns and EU sales list
Reconciliations and Accruals / Prepayments
Variance Analysis
Assist in the preparation of monthly / quarterly / yearly finance pack
Ad hoc work as requested by the Finance Manager

As the Accounts Assistance you will need to:

Essential knowledge/experience:
Sage 200
Computer literate
Good Excel knowledge – Minimum pivot table and v look up understanding
Proven experience within a finance function
Have a good understanding of the month end process
Minimum 5 GCSE’s A-C (Including Mathematics and English)
Graduate in Accounting & Finance / AAT Qualified
Part Qualified ACCA / CIMA (Other CCAB Qualifications considered)

Desirable knowledge/experience:

AS400 System
Worked in a similar –sized company
Ability to work accurately under pressure and to predetermined deadlines
Professional attitude
High Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills

Annual Leave: 
31 days (8 bank holidays, plus 23 annual days).  This will rise to an extra 2 annual days holiday after 3 complete holiday years of service and a further one day after 5 complete holiday years of service
