The Building Services Manager will be the lead Building Surveyor, managing all facilities management matters across the estate.

Our client is a public sector organisation.


As the Building Services Manager you will be responsible for the implementation of a planned preventative maintenance strategy as well as some reactive maintenance. This will be across a varied estate of commercial stock and will involve the management of a small in house team of staff as well as outsourced contractors.

You will need to ensure that all buildings are meeting all statutory compliance requirements including fire risk, asbestos, legionella, fixed wiring, energy certificates, etc.

You will also be responsible for overseeing some minor capital works projects including the tendering of these projects and oversee the delivery of these works.

There will be an onus on you to monitor the financial budget for all of the maintenance and capital works programmes to ensure that all works are undertaken within the financial limits.


To be considered for this role applicants will need to have prior experience within a Building Services based position and hold a minimum of HND in Building Surveying. You will ideally also hold a health & safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.

The nature of the role will of course involve a considerable site presence although some home working can be permitted but we will ideally be looking for candidates within a reasonable commuting distance of Burton on Trent.

Job Offer

A salary of up to £50,000 is on offer and you will also be enrolled on to a local government pension scheme.
