Role Title: Finance Associate – Remote working

Department: Finance Reports To: Financial Control Team Leader

Purpose of Role:

To provide support to the Financial Reporting team dealing with management accounting for a number of legal entities, cashbooks and other ad-hoc tasks to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the management accounting for several the group’s entities – ensuring accurate accounting and complete reconciliation packs for each entity on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for the bookkeeping for all assigned entities – ensuring accurate accounting and completion of the reconciliation packs
  • Processing daily cashbook entries, reconciling bank data to the finance system
  • Calculation and processing of monthly journals (including accruals & prepayments) ensuring accuracy and timeliness in completion.
  • Producing monthly Trial balance variance analysis and commentary
  • Assist with monthly accounting tasks
  • Work effectively at team level to support the team so that it meets its objectives and goals on a day to day basis.
  • Provide cover within the team during holidays/absences
  • Maintain a culture of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) within own area of business ensuring TCF considerations are taken into account during decision making. Ensure a good understanding of the company TCF MI Dashboard and participate in regular communications and discussion within the team
  • Manage relationships within the business as required to deliver specific role accountabilities
  • Undertake one-off pieces of work in response to requests from line management
  • Essential Competencies: Attention to detail; team-working; can-do innovative approach; organising and planning;

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

  • AAT/ACCA/CIMA studier or equivalent /qualified by experience
  • Good transactional accounting knowledge
  • PC literate – Excel and Access skills essential.
  • Can-do attitude, with a logical approach to problem solving
  • Attention to detail, organised and efficient
  • Ability to work effectively alone or in a team
  • Good communication skills – both oral and written
  • Pro-active
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Logical approach to problem solving.
