Deluxe Recruitment are currently seeking a Finance Manager on behalf of one of our well known clients based in Morecambe.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role of the Finance Manager is to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing processes and reports for collecting, analysing and verifying information as well as managing and motivating a team of 3+. The successful candidate will also need to work closely with our Accounting practise and identify opportunities to bring elements of the current service provided in house.

Annual Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Depending on experience.

Working hours – 40 hours P/week.

Monday – Friday

09:00 – 17:00 1 x 30 min break.

Your role within the company:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department inc. the following:
    • Month and end-year process
    • Accounts payable/receivable
    • Cash receipts
    • General ledger
    • Payroll and utilities
    • Budgeting
    • Cash forecasting
    • Sales team targets tracking and reporting
    • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
    • Capital assets reconciliations
    • Customer retros and investments
    • Fixed asset activity
    • Debt activity
  • Monitor and analyse accounting data and produce automated financial reports and statements from various systems.
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits
  • Provide recommendations
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Direct teams to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Meet financial accounting objectives
  • Establish and maintain financial files and records to document transactions

Experience, Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as a Finance Manager
  • Advanced computer MS Office skills, accounting software and databases (Knowledge of Merlin and Sales-i would be an advantage but not essential).
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to direct, supervise and motivate a team
  • Motivated and proactive self-starter
  • Curious in nature and happy to challenge the status quo
  • Happiest working as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed
  • Ability to lead the finance team as well as stepping down to hands on actions as required by the business.

Qualifications

  • ICAEW or ACCA qualification preferred.
  • Alternatively, 10 years’ experience within the accounting profession.
