Operations Manager / Street Services Local Authority  

Salary £61,000 – £67,000 basic (dependant on Experience)

Based Eastleigh Hampshire – Office Based (Hybrid option 1 day a week)

LWS Services are proud to be the chosen recruitment partner for a Southern based local authority responsible for Waste & Recycling Services and Grounds / Horticultural Maintenance Services.

Further expansion has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Street Services Manager to join their Senior Management team within the Councils Neighbourhood Services.

Role & Responsibilities.

  • Provide leadership and effective management of the Street Service team consisting of 2 direct Management reports and 100- 150 staff.
  • Responsible for the financial planning, control, and monitoring of performance against estimates/budgets and Key Performance Indicators within the section.
  • Setting operational targets, standards and strategy for Waste, Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance Services
  • Ensure staff are led, managed, motivated and developed to achieve their full potential.
  • Continually review service performance to ensure the delivery of cost effective, value-for-money services, and that their commercial potential is identified
  • Ensure the delivery of the Waste, Street Cleansing and Grounds Maintenance Services are in line with the agreed standards, ensuring the section operates efficiently and effectively.

Experience & Knowledge Required

  • Direct Waste Industry experience working within a Senior Management role
  • Managed and motivated a frontline workforce of 100+.
  • Extensive working knowledge of working practices/methodologies within the waste industry.
  • Setting, monitoring, and improving operational outcomes, KPIs and performance management.
  • knowledge of industry legislation

Qualifications / Education Required:

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level of extensive experience.
  • Recognised professional management qualification or extensive management experience in a Waste and/or Horticultural environment, or professional qualification, or qualified by strong relevant experience.
