Role Summary

To underwrite structured asset finance deals, you will be evaluating, analysing and approving credit proposals and revisions. You will be responsible for maintaining the portfolio through a consistent level of credit risk assessment and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

* Assess customer applications and make responsible lending decisions based on credit reports and additional information provided by the customer

* Verifying information on client’s applications and evaluating fraud risks

* Make independent credit decisions within your own delegated authority whilst working closely with our internal team and external stakeholders

* Making recommendations on client’s applications outside personal authority

* Underwrite cases within an agreed mandate considering customers risk

* Ensure all required documents are received and checked before processing

* Manage sanctioned proposals to pay out alongside other internal departments

* Preparation of credit papers and report

* Directly supporting the business by enhancing the quality of credit applications as well as making recommendations to ensure commercial opportunities are maximised

* Maintain close relationships with Relationship Managers, Internal Account Managers and other internal and external stakeholders

Skills required

  • Hold a current mandate of £250,000 or above
  • Experience in Asset Finance
  • A solid understanding of financial ratios, credit reporting data, and experience in analysing financial statements

  • Experience underwriting a variety of high value “hard asset” finance applications
